Whistleblower Policy

A comprehensive and well-written policy that demonstrates the organization's commitment to openness, transparency, and accountability. Sep 21, 23

Our community organization is committed to openness, transparency, inclusion, and safety. We encourage everyone to speak up if they have concerns about wrongdoing, regardless of their position or role. This includes employees, volunteers, board members, and anyone else involved in the organization.

Reporting Options

You can report your concerns in any of the following ways:

  • Anonymously: You can submit an anonymous report online or by calling our hotline.
  • To a supervisor: You can report your concerns to your supervisor or another trusted person in the organization.
  • To the board of directors: You can report your concerns directly to the board of directors.
  • Protected from Retaliation

We will not retaliate against anyone who reports wrongdoing in good faith. Retaliation can include any adverse action, such as termination, demotion, or harassment.

    Investigation Process

All reports of wrongdoing will be investigated promptly and fairly. We will keep you informed of the status of your report and the outcome of the investigation.

    Confidentiality

We will keep your identity confidential to the extent possible. However, we may need to disclose your identity to certain people, such as the person you are reporting about or the person investigating your report.

    Education and Documentation

We believe that education and documentation are essential for preventing wrongdoing. We provide training to all staff members on our whistleblower policy and other ethical standards. We also have a system in place for documenting all reports of wrongdoing and the results of all investigations.

    Anonymous Reports

We will investigate anonymous reports to the same extent as non-anonymous reports. However, we may not be able to provide you with as much feedback on the status of your report or the outcome of the investigation.

    Communicating Results

We will publish a summary of all whistleblower investigations that result in disciplinary action against staff members. We will also publish a summary of any investigations that reveal systemic issues within the organization. We will take steps to address any systemic issues that are identified.

We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. We encourage you to speak up if you have any concerns about wrongdoing.
