Overview
Ktown Team relies on a diversified mix of revenue streams rather than any single source. This reduces financial risk and aligns income with community values. All funding decisions are guided by the principles in the Ktown Fund.
Grants
Grants from foundations, government programs, and community funds form a significant part of our income. We pursue both project-specific and general operating grants, often collaborating with partner organizations on joint applications to access larger pools. See Community Partnerships for how we approach collaborative grant applications.
Individual Contributions
Community members can support Ktown Team through one-time or recurring donations. Recurring contributions are encouraged because they provide predictable income and signal sustained community investment in the organization's work.
Earned Income
We develop social enterprises - community-owned revenue streams that provide useful services while generating income. This moves us toward financial independence from grant cycles and creates local economic activity within Koreatown.
Skills-Based Contributions
Professional expertise contributed by community members reduces the need for paid external services. Legal, design, technology, and communications work are examples of skills that directly reduce operating costs. Volunteers and Advisors both contribute in this way.
Institutional and Corporate Partnerships
Partnerships with aligned institutions and businesses can provide funding, in-kind resources, or shared infrastructure. All partners are vetted for fair labor practices and alignment with our values before formalizing a relationship.
Platform Revenue
As the Ktown Team Platform matures, select tools may generate revenue through licensing, services, or community programs. Any platform revenue flows back into organizational operations and the Ktown Fund.
