Overview

Financial transparency is central to how Ktown Team operates. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we have legal disclosure obligations - but our standard for openness goes further than compliance. The goal is for any community member to understand how money flows through the organization without having to ask.

Public Disclosure Requirements

As a registered 501(c)(3) - confirmed in our Articles of Incorporation - Ktown Team is required to file IRS Form 990 annually. The 990 is a public document that discloses revenue, expenses, executive compensation, program activities, and governance information. We publish our 990 filings directly on this wiki as part of our transparency commitment.

Annual Report

Each year we publish an annual report covering organizational activities, financial performance, program outcomes, and goals for the coming year. The report is written for a general audience - not just accountants - and includes plain-language summaries of all financial statements.

Real-Time Financial Access

Our platform provides community members with ongoing access to financial data: fund balances, recent transactions, budget vs. actual comparisons, and allocation by program area. This is not a once-a-year disclosure - it is continuous visibility into how resources are being used.

Audit and Verification

We commission independent external audits to verify the accuracy of our financial statements. Audit reports are published alongside our 990 filings. Internal controls - described in the Budget Process - provide a first layer of accountability before external review.

Community Access

All financial reports, filings, and audit results are accessible without login or request. If a community member has questions about a specific line item or allocation decision, they can raise it through our open-door process outlined in Community Partnerships. No question about how we spend money is off-limits.
